DESCRIPTION

The millimeter wave radar sensor assembly receives information about the area in front of the vehicle from the forward recognition camera.

If the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly detects a malfunction in the forward recognition camera, it stores DTC C1AA0.

While the ignition switch to ON, the forward recognition camera detects an internal malfunction for approximately 0.3 seconds or more.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • When replacing the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly, always replace it with a new one.
  • When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed.

  • The pre-collision system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there are no malfunctions in the CAN communication system. Refer to How to Proceed with Troubleshooting.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK FOR DTCs (FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA SYSTEM)

HINT:

Pre-collision system DTC C1AA0 may be stored due to a malfunction in the forward recognition camera system. Therefore, it is necessary to check for and troubleshoot forward recognition camera system DTCs first.

(a) Check for DTCs.

(a) Clear the DTCs.

(b) Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

HINT:

If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.

(c) Check for DTCs.
