REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for USA and Canada)

(a) Install the rear bumper arm sub-assembly LH with the 4 bolts.

Torque:

18 N·m {184 kgf·cm, 13 ft·lbf}

2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for USA and Canada)

HINT:

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) for USA and Canada:

(1) Engage the guides to install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly.

(2) Install the 6 bolts.

Torque:

34 N·m {347 kgf·cm, 25 ft·lbf}

(b) except USA and Canada:

(1) Install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 8 bolts.

Torque:

18 N·m {184 kgf·cm, 13 ft·lbf}

4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH

(a) Engage the guides to install the rear bumper upper retainer LH.

5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

6. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT LH

  • for LED Type:

    Click here

  • for Bulb Type:

    Click here

7. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

8. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT COVER LH

  • for LED Type:

    Click here

  • for Bulb Type:

    Click here

9. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT COVER RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

10. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH

(a) Engage the claw and guide to install rear bumper side retainer LH as shown in the illustration.

Install in this Direction (1)

Install in this Direction (2)

(b) Install the 2 screws.

11. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

12. INSTALL REAR BUMPER CENTER GUARD

(a) Engage the claws and guides to install the rear bumper center guard.

(b) Install the 6 outside moulding retainers.

(c) Install the 2 clips.

13. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE STAY LH

(a) Engage the claw to install the rear bumper side stay LH as shown in the illustration.

(b) Install the clip.

(c) Install the screw.

14. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE STAY RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

15. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD LH

HINT:

When installing the rear bumper pad LH, heat the rear bumper assembly using a heat light.

CAUTION:

  • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
  • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

NOTICE:

Do not heat the rear bumper assembly excessively.

(a) Clean the rear bumper assembly surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper assembly surface.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper assembly.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Remove the release paper from a new rear bumper pad LH.

HINT:

After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

(c) Install the rear bumper pad LH as shown in the illustration.

HINT:

Install the rear bumper pad LH along the location line on the rear bumper cover.

16. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

17. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD

HINT:

When installing the rear bumper pad, heat the rear bumper assembly using a heat light.

NOTICE:

Do not heat the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly (for USA and Canada) or rear bumper assembly (except USA and Canada) excessively.

(a) Clean the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly (for USA and Canada) or rear bumper assembly (except USA and Canada) surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly (for USA and Canada) or rear bumper assembly (except USA and Canada) surface.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly (for USA and Canada) or rear bumper assembly (except USA and Canada).

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Remove the release paper from a new rear bumper pad.

HINT:

After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

(c) for USA and Canada:

(1) Install the rear bumper pad as shown in the illustration.

HINT:

Install the rear bumper pad corner the location point on the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly.

(d) except USA and Canada:

(1) Install the rear bumper pad as shown in the illustration.

HINT:

Install the rear bumper pad along the location line on the rear bumper center guard.

18. INSTALL NO. 1 REAR BUMPER PLATE

(a) Engage the hook.

(b) Engage the claws to install the No. 1 rear bumper plate.

19. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PLATE LH

(a) Engage the claws to install the rear bumper plate LH.

(b) Install the 2 screws.

20. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PLATE RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

21. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Engage the claw to install the reflex reflector assembly.

(b) Install the screw.

22. INSTALL FOG LIGHT BRACKET

(a) Engage the guides to install the fog light bracket.

(b) Install the 2 screws.
