ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL FREE PLAY

(a) Turn the Engine Start so that the power steering is ready to operate.

(b) Stop the vehicle and align the front wheels facing straight ahead.

(c) Gently turn the steering wheel right and left, and check for steering wheel free play.

Maximum Free Play:

30 mm (1.18 in.)

  • If the free play exceeds the maximum, check the steering system.
