ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Using the Techstream to perform the Active Tests allows relays, VSVs and actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 with the ignition switch off.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC/EPB / Active Test.
(e) When the vehicle's tires are lifted off the ground and the Techstream is used to operate the electric parking brake, check the condition of the rear tires.
(f) According to the display on the tester, perform the Active Test.
